My 21st Cake

Bottom layer: White chocolate mud
Middle layer: White chocolate cheesecake
Top Layer: Plain butter cake
Icing: Buttercream
Ribbon and swirls: Modeling paste
Roses: storebought (I was lazy!)

Lessons I learnt from making this cake:
  1. Set aside enough time. It is no fun rushing to finish a cake when you have to start getting ready for your own party. Or really... get someone else to make you a cake.
  2. Even in the effort of saving some time, never use the junky writing gels you can buy from the supermarket. it is so much easier to control piping from a piping bag and you're less likely to have air pockets and ugly errors like I did!
  3. Be very careful when mixing colours or you get unintentional colours like the green in the bottom layer. Or (going back to number 1) make sure you have enough time to make another batch in case you screw up.
